There is no doubt that it is still summer and we certainly don’t want to rush the season but fall is just around the corner. There is so much that is wonderful about fall.  The crisp, cool evenings, the sound of the fall bugs, the bountiful harvest that our gardens are yielding, colorful mums and pumpkins and gourds…  We could go on and on!!

Fall is a great time for planting, of course.  The cooler weather and fall rain help the plants to form good root systems and be healthy and vigorous come spring. We have an excellent supply of trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials ready for your fall planting.  We are currently running weekly specials that make fall planting even more affordable. Especially nice right now are Black-eyed Susans, Echinaceas, coral bells and the grasses.  Our local garlic grower extraordinaire just dropped off some beautiful heads of garlic.  These are excellent for both eating and planting!  Have questions?  We’ll be happy to help!

We have a very exciting new addition here at Corky’s!!  Stop in and check out our new waterfall and pond.  We love it!  Arendt’s Outdoor Services, Inc. constructed the area and did the planting around it - they did a fabulous job!  This will be the starting place for their Moonlit Pond and Patio tour which will be held Sept. 11^th from 2 until 10 pm.  Tickets for the event may be purchased here and are $20.00 per car. For more information you may call Arendt’s office at 563-1128.  It promises to be a very good time - be sure to join us!

Our mums are planted and ready for sale.  Several of the early varieties are blooming.  We are your Hardy Mum headquarters this fall.  We offer you the best selection as well as the best price around (we’ve checked)!  Our mums are grown right here on the premises which mean they are beautiful and full without any shipping damage.  In addition to mums, we have mixed planters designed to give you lots of fall color.

Our gift shop is gearing up for fall as well. We are full of pumpkins, wreaths and other fall décor.  Real pumpkins, gourds and cornstalks will be arriving mid-September. The new Spartina handbags and scarves will be arriving at the end of August.  Their colors and patterns for fall are gorgeous!!

As you can see, fall is truly a great season and we are ready!  Be sure to use your loyalty card when you shop!  ‘Til Sept…
